bass fishing report

I was able to find time and was able to put in some fishing time this past week. Last Thursday was a day in the Stick Marsh. We found the water temperature to be close to 70 and the fish were really chewing for us. Most of our bigger fish were females that have yet to spawn out. This day reminded me of what the old days were like, except it was almost every day back then.

We boated 47 bass between the hours of 9:30 and 3pm. Most came on soft plastics with the brightest part of the day but when we started to get some clouds rolling in, the topwater was on fire. Gambler Easy Swimmer plastics in the Red Ear color or the good ole black and blue worked great. I went to something nostalgic that back in the old days was a killer color pattern and that was throwing a Zoom Trick worm or Senko in bubblegum color. This bait did not let me down again this day as it brought back some great memories of the good ole days.

Today I made a trip to Garcia to scout around as it has been over a year since my last time there. Lots have changed since then with the most notable being the lack of hydrilla. It was pretty slow until we figured out a pattern and caught 15 small fish throwing a YO ZURI 3D Minnow suspending jerk bait.

All in all, it felt great to be out on my two favorite lakes once again with old friends to share the fun with.
