bass report

This week we fished Stick Marsh and Headwaters Lake. Here in the Fellsmere area, the largemouth bass fishing has been spectacular. We have been catching BIG numbers and BIGGER fish on our charter trips.

On Stick Marsh I found most of the fish in the edge of eel grass in 4ft of water. The most effective baits were the Bass Assassin Fat Job rigged wacky style in Black and Blue and a Redbug Bass Assassin RSB worm rigged Texas with an 1/8oz tungsten weight and a bobber stopper 10″ in front of the weight. We caught multiple 7lb-9lb Bass each trip. The rod used was a 7’5″ medium/heavy Halo KS II Elite, Shimano SLX DC reel with 50lb No Fade Braid by Vicious.

Headwaters Lake Bass Fishing

Next door at Headwaters Lake the two baits we used over on Stick Marsh worked pretty well but the fish were in 3-6ft of water in scattered Hydrilla. We also caught several 4-6lb Bass on a Sammy and Whopper Plopper. When the sun was overhead the Punching bite would pickup. We used a Bass Assassin Skunk Ape in the Gravedigger color with a 1oz sinker worked very well. The rod was a Halo KS II Elite 7’9″ extra heavy flipping stick with 65lb No Fade Braid by Vicious.

You can pick up all of your tackle needs and the tackle in this report from Fellsmere Outdoor Adventures. If you need a freshwater Bass fishing Guide please give me a call at 772-494-7400. Good Luck this week!
