treasure coast marina fishing report

This week has been strange to say the least! The water has been high and dirty, and the salinity around our docks has been off. However, the fishing has been great and there are schools of finger mullet everywhere, balling up and trying to get away from the big snook we can see chasing them!

Reports span the spectrum of species. There’s fat slot redfish near the edges of the channel and hiding in the deeper holes around the islands. In the inlet, there’s very active snook on moving tides. These fish are after big pins and croakers.

Some pompano are also being caught around abandoned docks, where big drum are also being found near the structure. There’s not many decent-sized sheepshead, it’s been a little off kilter for them. Our experience tells us that they are a little more fussy about water conditions.

The big surprise of the week is the early arrival at the inlet of the doormat flounder! We have had several reports of these big boys coming in already!
