Last week has been challenging to say the least on the shore. Weather has been all over the place as has been the wave action. The weeds too seem to be a hit and miss mess. BUT if you’re persistent the fish are there. I’ve brought in tons of margate, ladyfish, and recently a bunch of jacks which I haven’t personally seen in two months? Today, a keeper black drum. I’ll take it. Tarpon continue to prowl but I’ve been unable to catch the nice live bait on shore I usually use. I’ve literally ceased getting croakers, pinfish, whiting, etc… the last two weeks. Usually a small hook and a piece of shrimp and I’m hauling in fresh tarpon bait all day but just NOTHING? For me at least, I’m noticing some species shifts. Maybe temporary, maybe luck, but something…
