Another hot week of humidity and sweat as we try our best to find some shady spot where the fish are hanging out! Lagoon fishing has been producing with an above average bite, surprisingly. Although, lots of the activity is coming from undersized fish, particularly the trout out there. You can catch all you want of them, but you can’t take them with you!

Some drum and sheepshead, just barely legal, are around the structures that hold barnacles. They are loving the fiddler crabs, and we have a plentiful supply of those right now at Treasure Coast Marina. They are also interested in, and biting the NATIVE SALT CLAMS. Give those a try and the results will do well for you — they are an especially practical and effective bait for this time of year. No fuss, just zip open the bag and put a little piece on your hook, then zip the bag shut and put back in cooler. Keep it nice and easy for yourself when it’s as hot as it is right now…

Offshore, the snapper season was AWESOME for all of our reporting anglers! Everybody limited out in a couple of hours, and the snapper were everywhere, and Big Boys, too… All three days were spectacular, with both wonderful weather AND fishing. What a weekend to experience!

Spanish sardines are in short supply right now, but we are happy to report that we will be getting some in this week before the weekend. Not a huge quantity, but we will portion them out so everybody gets something! Make the most of the last snapper weekend! And don’t forget, lobster mini season will be coming right up on its heels. July is a great month!
