redfish mosquito lagoon

We have had some strange weather conditions this past week with a small front coming through and quite a bit of rain. The shift in winds, rain and a full moon phase has brought an influx of water into the Mosquito Lagoon. The fish are taking full advantage of the high water, and moving into areas they usually don’t get to feed in.

For the most part, the water clarity has been pretty good making it easier to sight fish on the sunny days. Look for the shallow bays holding bait and the fish will be mixed in. Spoons, soft plastics and shrimp have been the go to baits these past few weeks.

It looks like we have another cold front coming in this week which will continue to lower the water temps and push the fish into their winter time patterns.
