The waters throughout the New Smyrna Beach area have been alive with activity this past week. My clients have been boating redfish, trout and black drum several different ways. We have caught them along the deeper shorelines in the backwaters and also sight fishing them in the shallows of Mosquito Lagoon. The weather has been consistent making for a good bite and looks to continue through the weekend. Both artificial and live bait have been working well. Targeting the bait pods have been working well both on the flats and along the bars.
