This week had a great start and ended up with a full-on struggle. Dealing with weeds remained a persistent theme throughout the week’s duration. The bite seemed to shut off for the past four or five days, but all boats are rolling today, so we’ll see what happens.

The Mahi fishing has been alright. Our high hooks for the day were roughly five out of six fish, but some were pretty decent-sized. There’s been sailfish and blackfin tuna mixed in with the trolling action, too. Kings were firing at the beginning of the week before tapering off. The kings were moving all over the place — on the pines one day and benson the next, so it’s hard to guess where they’ll be next, but the reef is always a good place to start.

Bottom fishing was good! Grouper season opened up and I can’t complain. The bigger the baits, the better we did. Red snapper releases remain a staple of consistency, if nothing else. Mixed in with the trolling all week was sailfish and blackfin tuna again.

Good luck this week. Hopefully the grass goes away and the fish turn back on once again.
