Ray caught a nice flounder

Welcome to the weekend, everybody! It looks like the fishing was pretty good all week in the canals and lagoon. Lots of redfish and small snook, mangrove snappers and a few black drum are being caught on live shrimp and finger mullet.

The surf fishing has been off the hook with large snook being caught on live croakers. Those who are bouncing a jig or using finger mullet are finding that there are a few flounder roaming like the one Ray hooked into in the photo above. The whiting bite is still strong along with Margate and a few redfish caught inside the trough. They’re also has been some big tarpon caught outside the breakers.

It looks like Al from Man Overboard Bait & Tackle finally took a break and did a little bottom fishing offshore and caught a nice little mix bag of mangrove snapper, Vermilion snapper, and triggerfish. If you are going to get out there this weekend to do some bottom fishing, bring some extra muscle because the reef donkeys, AKA amberjack, have officially moved in.

Tom caught a nice dolphin free lining a live mullet off the back of the boat while bottom fishing.

Have a great weekend from all of us at Man Overboard Bait and Tackle!
