port canaveral party boat fishing offshore report

The first couple days of red snapper season were a big success. The evening and night time bite was a little better and seemed to be yielding some bigger fish. Triggerfish are abundant and for those that devote a good portion of the day to chicken rig fishing shouldn’t have a problem catching a few keepers for the dinner table.

I have been seeing a couple mangroves up in the water the last few trips, but unfortunately couldn’t fight off the remoras and blue runners to see if they wanted to bite. All in all, the mangrove snapper bite on the bottom has been slow, but hopefully it will pick up soon. Thankfully some big lane snapper and a few vermillion snapper have been filling the mangrove void.

Our shark fishing trips have continued to be phenomenal with numbers of up to 40 sharks being caught each night. With any luck that should continue until something changes. The forecast looks fantastic so I don’t see anything changing for shark fishing in the near future. Looking forward to a great week ahead, and there’s no better place to be than on the open ocean breathing the fresh air and soaking in the sun rays. Hope to see you soon!
