Sebastian Inlet Snook fishing

It’s windy, but the fish are still eating!

Wind, and more wind, was the theme of the week. The seas momentarily died down for a window over last weekend, only to pick back up again from Monday through Friday. Fishing was great at the inlet with slot redfish hitting any bait you could put in front of them. Pretty much every cast produced a nice red — and if could get past them or the jacks, there were snook chewing in the mix, too.

In the lagoon, the trout fishing was decent in Grant around the spoil islands. In the same area, smaller-sized snook were plenty feisty along the docks. Soft plastics were working well here, consistently soliciting a nice bite. Meanwhile, the channel markers are holding a good number of tripletail, with ladyfish and jacks having an explosive presence, too.

It’s definitely that time of the year to start fishing the Sebastian River for tarpon, snook and jacks. Spend some time in there over the next several weeks and you should have plenty of action!
