Saturday amongst the entire fleet of 300 some odd boaters (I’m exaggerating a little but you never know, all three lots were full) all venturing out on the calm seas forecast of 1′ or less we headed out to the cocoa pier for bait. I like to use croakers, whiting and/or weakfish for live baits so we caught a good dozen and a half and headed off to the kingfish grounds (Pelican).
May 6th, was supposed to be an offshore trolling for Mahi and deep dropping for Golden’s day but it was too wishy washy for the 22’ sailfish. Instead worked the 80’ ledges and came home with some groceries. Squid and frozen pilchards from last weeks trip is what we used for bait. Grouper ate a live grunt as well the biggest nurse shark I’ve ever seen 9+’
