I had some smaller but tough Jacks near the Inlet; a local said in another month with the cooler weather we should expect some bigger ones up to 10 lbs in Jupiter Inlet; couple of questions:

Had a nice little 25 min burst of blues at first light; beach near the inlet was fairly empty; one on mag darter then switched to metal; great way to start the day!

I was doing well with trout around the River docks until the cold front last week; stopped cold; neighbor let me out to end of dock to hit deeper water; caught this on a plastic shrimp…a “sail cat?”; good fight and high on the slime index.

I had a great stretch several weeks ago with nice blues, Jacks and macks every day; then it shut down and weather has been tough; been fishing the river and doing fine with trout and Ladys; wondering if the surf is back…. other than Pompano.

After about 10 days of blues, Jacks and a few Mackeral every day the last two days were basically dead on the beach by the Inlet; no idea what’s up.

Great bluefish action on beach at first light; had a nice something hit a topwater early and ran drag on me; got it in the wash and braid snapped; there were some 4ft sharks flopping in the wash when I first arrived, so don’t know if they were involved; great morning action;, as usual stopped about 7:30

As a surf guy from NJ who is new to Florida surf fishing, it was great this morning when I got a nice whack at my mag darter and found a nice blue on the line; I did not know they would be here this early in the year; classic blue fish — he spit up half a small mullet as I was unhooking.
