Bluegill spawning season is in full swing, which means it’s time for the bass to get their revenge and raid their nests for an easy meal! Locate areas with sandy bottom near deep water to find their beds. Target bass on the edge of their beds with a 1/2oz swim jig by bringing it through the water column, and just be ready for that big bite!

Reporting from the Winter Park Chain of Lakes! I know the past couple of weeks have been rough with the East Wind blowing hard! Don’t let that discourage you, it only makes the bite better! Bait fish will ball up tighter together and follow the wind patterns as they track down (their food source) microscopic plankton. I set my boat up on a wind blow point in the deepest water and target eel grass beds using a variety of techniques with carolina rigs and swim jigs being the most effect. We caught over 30 fish and some Big mamas using this method. Make sure you get an early start!

As Orlando begins to transition into its summer time temperatures, we are noticing big groups of large mouth bass schooling during low light conditions as glass minnows migrate across the lake. As the day progresses, they are pulling out into deep grass ledges from 15ft to 20ft of water.
