ABOUT

I've been fishing my whole life on the Space Coast. For the past few years I have been filming my fishing and spearfishing trips. Subscribe to stay up to date on all the action on the central east coast of Florida and wherever else I travel.

    Goodbye Weeds, Hello Mullet

    August 13, 2019

The weed is gone! Well, for the most part. Also, the mullet are starting to show up. That means fall is on its way. With big mullet moving through the surf the Tarpon, Snook, and sharks are fired up. My Favorite way to target the fish is with a plug, swim-bait, or spoon. This allows you to be mobile. No dragging around a bucket, cast-net, and other gear. Just a rod and a backpack.

      Striking Gold in the Weeds

      July 31, 2019

Weed, weed, and weeds. That seems to be what has been going on lately. There are some good fish out there, you just have to drive around a bit and find a section of beach where the weeds aren’t bad. A good tip for finding the bigger fish is to look for the birds. This should lead you to the Tarpon, Snook, and sharks.

        Surf Fishing Warming Up!

        July 8, 2019

The surf fishing is warming up — literally. It seems like the cold water has moved out and the fish are chewing better now. There are lots of Whiting, Spots, and Heard-Head Croakers around the surf. Seaweed has been a bit of an issue, but if you move around you can find a clean area. Fishbites, shrimp, sandfleas, and clams are the go-to bait for these fish right now. Just toss a pompano rig out there and it should be game on. There are lots of smaller fish around, so dropping your hook size down to something like a #4 wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Time for BIG Snook on the Beach!

          June 5, 2019

We are getting into the summer months and it is time for BIG Snook on the beach. There are a few different ways to target them. You can fish artificial at first and list light. Some lures that work well are a Skitterwalk if you are looking for some top-water action and a variety of swim baits will work well too (Tsunami Swim Shad, Hogy Paddletail, Spooltek, just to name a few).
