Sat 28. No real edge for the blue water; just a gradual transition. Anyway, I ended up feeding lots of cuda / small sharks and with a 50# sailfish caught dragging ballyhoo in 105 feet, due east of the port. I had a small cobia following the boat and trying to eat the red downrigger release! I finally got him to eat a cocktail. The water was sloppy for a 15′ boat.

Stay Shallow and Fish Deep! Early in the morning there isn’t really any weed line until you hit 170 ft. Once out there the weeds are too thick for trolling. By about noon, blue water and few weeds appear in 90 to 115 ft of water; this will likely change next weekend because it depends on the tides. This is your best bet for dolphin and kings. 90% of the fish I have been catching take the downrigged bait 30 ft behind the cannonball and 40 feet of rigger cable out with an 8lb ball, so down 20′. I don’t think skirt color matters too much but I like coke or blue and clear. Stinger hooks are a must.
