Drum for me
This evening was the first chance I had to hit the beach since the Winds of ‘19. I stopped at Satellite, and like so many others I’m reading about, I snagged a nice black drum, 16.”

Been an absolute battle with the swells and wind as of late. Between the weeds, the slime, then storms, then whatever the heck this is, you gotta really want it. Mostly just occasional margate but […]
Hit Satellite this morning. Sure has changed. All the fine beach sand is now in the water. My kid and I walked what seemed like a quarter mile into the ocean. Felt like Jesus walking on water LOL We sure must’ve looked funny to the people on the beach.
Haven’t had time to report but last Saturday I landed a nice almost 17” Spanish off the EG catwalk. Also had some kind of mega mystery beast that I battled for 3 good minutes on […]
Went out to Satellite at peak high tide this afternoon and it was COMPLETELY UNFISHABLE from shore. Massive clouds of slime as far as I could see north and south. Hoping 10 miles south is clear in the morning…
Hit the surf yesterday about a mile north of Sebastian. NOTHING. Nobody was getting literally anything. Big snook cruising but no hits. Water was crystal clear and weed free.
Last week has been challenging to say the least on the shore. Weather has been all over the place as has been the wave action. The weeds too seem to be a hit and miss […]
Slime seems to be everywhere from Satellite down to north of Sebastian. Tough fishing all around. Did find some minor breaks at Satellite today. Had a variety of undersized black drum, a permit, a margate, […]
Multiple LARGE tarpon were slamming everything at Satellite Beach today. I even had them steal small catches off my pompano rigs before I could get them in. TWICE they took off and went aerial with my rigs! I had two chances free lining baits within 10 feet of the water line. Unfortunately both times I couldn’t get a hook up. Other catches included ladyfish and a mystery (to me) fish. Looks like a sheepshead without the stripes?
