It’s been a great few weeks for us here at Fineline Fishing Charters since Captain Justin and I returned from our two weeks of tarpon charters we ran down in Islamorada.

The one consistent fish that we have been able to count on is the speckled trout in the Indian River lagoon. These fish are holding around mullet pods. Just about anywhere that you find mullet throughout the Banana and Indian River Lagoon system you will have a shot at some good trout action on Rapala Skitterwalks and Saltwater Assassin 5- inch long soft plastic jerk baits.

Most of these trout have been 18 to 22 inches in size and we’re getting bigger fish up to 26-inches on some mornings. Throw in a scattering of snook, black drum, lady fish, jacks, and juvenile Tarpon and you have the makings of a good inshore fishing trip.

Nearshore action is great for shark right now. Any live or cut bait rigged on a wire leader will get them. Tarpon, Jack, and king mackerel are also possible catches along the Sebastian and Cocoa beach nearshore waters.

We are extremely busy this month but if you are looking to get a charter give us a call at 332-636-3728 and we will try to fit you in.
