We had a decent week with good weather early. Winds were down and the fish were active around that full moon! Despite the delay of our fall mullet run, there was plenty of action in the inlet and along the beach with snook. If you could find the bait pods along the shore, there were snook mixed in with them. Inlet bite was good early in the week with a lot of snook and redfish on outgoing tide on live bait. As the week progressed, the winds blew and the swells increased to 4’ and bigger making it tough for people to fish outside the jetty. We did get a few small schools of mullet, but not much at all. Lets hope we get some more north winds to get the push going.

Marcio and his buddies got some slot snook as well as some Bull reds.

The inshore bite was good for a few days and tapered off this last weekend with the high winds. Early in the week, we caught plenty of trout and several slot redfish, some small snook and jacks. We focused on fishing the shorelines with that were holding bait. Most of the bait running the mangroves and docks were pilchards with some mullet mixed in. We used primarily used Storm 360 GT Paddletail and jerk baits along the mangroves for the Trout, Snook and Redfish. Using live shrimp, we caught a lot of Mangrove Snapper, lane snapper and Mutton Snapper on the rock piles and around docks close to the inlet.

The mullet run is a few weeks late… Let’s hope the winds lay down and the mullet get pushing their way down so the bite gets red hot like it should be.
