Between talk with some of our local captains and word from our repeat customers, the fishing has been pretty rock solid in the lagoon from Grant to Sebastian. We sold a boat load of shrimp and pinfish this week, which is a pretty reliable indicator that these baits are producing well. At the Inlet, it’s all about the Mojarra. They call these bait fish “snook candy” for good reason, but right now, they are also proving to be a “fin” favorite of the bruiser redfish in and around the Inlet. Come by and stock up on bait, you never know what surprises await you on the water — for instance, just this week, a cobia was caught INSIDE the Inlet!

Native Salt Clams are now in stock in new colors of pink, orange and yellow at Treasure Coast Marina!

If you haven’t tried Native Salt Clam Baits yet, it’s past time due that you’ve found out what the hype is all about. These baits work awesome, are easy and clean to keep, and they stay on the hook strong. Whether you’re hitting the beach or the reef, the fish love them, and now they’re available in three new colors. Come by Treasure Coast Marina and pick up a pack of Native Salt Clams in yellow, pink, or orange!

Since we had Blessing of the Fleet this week, I had less time than usual to scout the fishing report and come up with much other valuable intel. The Blessing of the Fleet had a wonderful turnout and we really enjoyed the company of old friends and new! The weather was perfect and Pastor Monty did a spectacular job of praying for our fleet. The breakfast buffet was also amazing! Thanks to all who helped plan and put it together and also to those who participated!

Congrats to Reed, winner of the Treasure Coast Marina Joyce’s Dock Fishing Contest.

Reed Trottier was crowned the big winner of the Joyce’s Dock Fishing Contest sponsored by Treasure Coast Marina Bait & Tackle. The photo of Reed with his HUGE fish with Joyce’s dock in the background earned him a brand new rod and reel and a certificate of achievement. Reed is the son of Shane Trottier, local fishing charter captain and popular guide. Looks like the apple has not fallen far from the tree!

Next week is the Grant-Valkaria Childrens Fishing Tournament on Saturday morning from 8:00-11:00. No entry fee, FREE use of rod and reel, FREE breakfast, and FREE BAIT! There are prizes for everyone and all local kids are welcome!

And that’s the scoop for this week!
