snook

James and Jodie with a few inshore snook! They also got a bunch of Mutton Snapper, Trout and jacks!

The weather man was a bit off late last week and over the weekend. Hit some inshore spots late in the week due to forecast but the winds stayed down and the seas remained calm. The snook and trout bite was decent when we found the bait schools. Also found some full grown tarpon inshore as well, but didn’t focus on catching them because my customers were looking for dinner.

The inlet bite has had plenty of redfish and some snook, although the snook bite slowed a little later in the week. However, there has been plenty of juvenile Mutton Snapper in the inlet along with some cuber and a few black and gag grouper.

On the beach, the bite has been pretty good with plenty of sharks, jacks, tarpon and mackerel. The mullet schools are starting to show up with some sharks and tarpon mixed in. If the seas pick up from Fiona, inshore is going to be the ticket. Get some live bait and fish the mangroves and you won’t be disappointed.
